November 28, 2018 by ladyarlyn

Dear Ones,

We hope that you are finding ways to bring what your soul is hungry for into these short days.

This month, we’ve got some great workshops and classes and the very monumental occurrence of the release of our debut album on the 15th of December. We’ll start off the month with a workshop: “Not So Odd Times – Fun With Odd Times and Meters -or- It’s Just 2’s and 3’s” with David Alderdice – Saturday, December 1st, 10-noon more info below.

Our debut album, “Music for Everyday Life” is in the duplication phase right now and should arrive in Colorado very soon! You can get your tickets to our CD release party on December 15th here or by visiting one of the local ticket outlets (Paradise, Cirque, Lizzy’s Mkt).

If you are not able to make the CD release Party, you can pre-order a copy of the CD directly from us by paying $18 via paypal here and make sure to share your mailing address. After December 15th, the physical CD will be available on CD Baby and for digital download on iTunes and other such online music retailers as well as at several local NFV businesses.

many blessings,
Arlyn and David

  • “Not So Odd Times – Fun With Odd Times and Meters -or- It’s Just 2’s and 3’s” with David Alderdice – Saturday, December 1st, 10-noon, at our teaching studio outside Hotchkiss, CO. We will use solkattu and the marimba ensemble instruments as part of this workshop as we take a look at feeling odd meters (like 3’s, 5’s, 7’s, 9’s, 11’s, and so on) with comfort and ease. Applicable for all artists, musicians, dancers, athletes, and other humans. All instruments provided. Ages 13 through adult. $20.  Pre-register by replying to this email or by calling 872-4238.

  • Women’s Rhythm and Drumming Class Series with Arlyn Alderdice. Tuesdays 9:30am-11am, December 4, 11 & 18 at at our teaching studio outside Hotchkiss, CO. Come as you are. For new drummers as well as experienced musicians. $25 for the three week series, please inquire about trades and alternative currency if that would be helpful for you. Please RSVP by replying to this email so I can plan accordingly. It is my ideal to have you commit to all three weeks for the consistency of the group and building on the learning, but I understand that is not always realistic, and you can still drum with us.

It is very likely that being fully present in the body (or rather, in the deeper energy field of the body) brings not only the peace of an ineffable presence, but also a great lightness to the physical form. And it is very likely that you will experience greater vitality, vibrancy, and a sense of well-being and joy. ~Amoda Maa Jeevan
